Dr. Thanawat Ampunant, Director of National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), and       Mr. Yannis Karoumpas, Program Manager—APAC Ground Infrastructure of Eutelsat OneWeb, along with Mr. Soraphong Siriphan, Senior Executive Vice President—Telecommunications and Satellite of NT, officially launched the Satellite Network Portal (SNP Gateway). This advanced facility is designed to integrate seamlessly with Eutelsat OneWeb’s LEO satellite constellation, enhancing global connectivity.The grand opening event, "LEO Gateway Launch 2025: Grand Opening of OneWeb SNP Gateway, Sirindhorn," was held on March 25, 2025, at the Sirindhorn Satellite Earth Station in Ubon Ratchathani. The event brought together distinguished guests from both public and private sectors, marking a groundbreaking achievement in Thailand’s telecommunications industry.

The Most Advanced LEO Satellite Network Portal in ASEAN

The OneWeb SNP Gateway at Sirindhorn Satellite Earth Station stands as one of the most advanced satellite network portal in Southeast Asia. Developed to support Eutelsat OneWeb’s LEO satellite infrastructure, this facility represents a major leap in Thailand’s digital and satellite communications.

With its high-speed, low-latency, and ultra-reliable connectivity, the SNP Gateway will serve businesses, industries, government agencies, and digital infrastructure development initiatives. The expansion of LEO connectivity will be a game-changer, enabling wider broadband access, facilitating next-generation telecommunications, and bridging the digital divide in remote and underserved areas.

The establishment of the SNP Gateway is a significant milestone in NT’s journey toward global satellite communication standards. This initiative aligns with NT’s vision of becoming a sustainable digital leader, while also preparing Thailand for the emerging space and telecommunications industries.

Through NT’s Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS), the SNP Gateway will provide integrated satellite ground infrastructure and telecommunications services, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a key player in the regional satellite industry.

The strategic location of the Sirindhorn Satellite Earth Station makes it the ideal site for the SNP Gateway. With cutting-edge infrastructure, a prime geographical position, and expert personnel, this facility is set to deliver high-performance satellite communication services to Thailand and neighboring countries such as The Kingdom of Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Republic of the Philippines,  Republic of China, The Republic of Korea and parts of Indonesia.

As demand for high-speed internet and satellite-based connectivity continues to surge, this project will strengthen Thailand’s position as ASEAN’s leading GSaaS hub.
